A male cat pissed in my sneakers. I soaked them in pine-sol for five days. The odor is still really bad, it smells like a skunk odor but there are no skunks in my neighborhood. I sprayed them several times with Fabreeze but the odor won't go away. Any suggestions ?..............P U !

Hi there, I am located in Southern California - Orange County. Do I need to get a permit to have my central air conditioning unit replaced?
Do you know how I go about getting this done?
The unit was actually installed already but the rumor on my block is that our home owners association is after me for a permit... The unit was installed last month... I have no clue what to do here...

any ideas?

I want the table to fold down from the wall though and when it is folded up and put away it will have a mirror on the bottom with a curtain frame making it appear to be a "window/mirror" of some sort, but I don't know what hinges would fold UP and would support wieght of food I've seen snack bars and other mouted table, but they fold down against the wall. HOW do I do this?

I have a bug that I took a picture of. I want to know if anyone would be able to tell me what it is. At first i thought it was a cockroach, if so, i would not have moved into this apartment. At first my landlord agreed, later disagreeing and saying that it was a flower beetle. I would like to send the picture to someone or post it somewhere so that they can look and see.

I am renovating my basement and putting in a nice home theater. I have a room with two light switches, one controls recessed lighting on each side of the room. I am looking for a brand of dimmer switch that I can use 1 remote control to control both light switches (independently). I am having a hard time finding such an item, but it can't be that rare! Ideally, I'd like to program my logitech harmony remote control to control both light switches. I have heard of people doing this, but I don't know what brand of switches I can use! There are many brands that 1 remote controls 1 switch, but I have 2 switches right next to each other (dual-gang box) that control different sides of the room. HELP!!!

Almost everyone who's handy has those one or two tools that do the job of five others or just the one job but five times better than the standard one. (You know, the one you like to show off, or the one people always want to take a look at anyway.) For example, mine are a handle that acctpts screwdriver bits but also takes sawzall blades, eliminating the need to keep a hacksaw, combination saw,or punch saw (I just keep a few of each type of blade and thats all I need). Its made by "General" and can usually be found in Home Depot. My other is a ratcheting screwdriver that flips back and forth from straight to T for ease turning/carrying. Its made by a company called sabertooth and I got it off their website (www.sabertoothtools.com). Now, please, tell me some of yours, how they work, what they do, and where you got them so I can find one too if I like the idea. Thanks all.

I have three different kinds of ceramic tile. I am on a budget so I plan on using the tile that I was given for free. I believe I can design a nice looking bathroom so I am looking for information on random tile work. Or is this possible. A friend of mine tiled his kitchen floor with random pieces of tile. I need any information on how this can possibly be achieved.

Sometimes I thought is there anything else I can do to make me more comfortable when taking a bath every time? One of my ideas is to install a waterproofing LCD in the bathroom so that I can watch some TV program or DVD movies.

This may seem like a dumb question, but here goes anyway. When glueing something, how do you clamp it when the two pieces of wood are at right angles to each other, like an "L" shape or a "T" shape?

My mother wants to give me a gift card for a maid service (I am pregnant and shouldn't be lifting more than 15# or bending a lot) but I looked at them and I just don't think that they are going to do anything I can't do with a little help from hubby and older child.

And I found a lot of very negative reports about them online anyway.

So does any one have personal experience with any of the big maid services?

There are so many! I have tried so many but, in my point of view, I think that the name brands have better performances. They may be outregeously expensive, but they work really well on my clothes! Other people might think differently. I think that the off brands have way better scents! My clothes so much better with the off brands but personaly, I think that the name brands perform a lot better. But I don't know what kind of "name brand" to get.
