do you have gutters installed?... try digging an area to slope toward the street if that doesn't work try using 6 in perforated PVC pipe dig out about 10 in wide and and 10 to 12 in deep put an inch of chat and lay the pipe in the ditch around the pipe put gravel around the pipe don't tamp it just pour it on and let mother nature do the rest if 6 in pipe wont work they have larger if you need but if you use enough to clear the area it should work.

Sounds like a big job to me.If your looking to save a buck or two then I suggest get a tractor or a truck with a blade and slope it before landscaping it. Otherwise you will need to call in an engineer if its that bad. Another way is that you can build up the dirt along side of your house and let your neighbor worry about the trenching. If they are not already?

Can you regrade the lawn and put more slope toward the front of the house or the back? Good luck.
