Our house was built in 1945. Would it pose a fire hazard to the original wiring which is in excellent shape if we upgrade some breakers to 20 amp from the 15 amp we currently have. The breaker box has been upgraded but the original wiring is in the walls. Thanks

Would it look weird if I mixed these 2 furniture pieces together since they are different colors?

This is the Mahogany

They sort of look the same, but light changes everything, what do you think? should I just be safe and keep all the furniture the same color?

I had berber carpet in the basement and had to remove it. To my dismay, the concrete floor underneath is now covered in glue. What must I do to remove the glue? I am looking for an easy solution, regardless of cost. (other than paying someone else to do it, of course)

just moved into my GF's apt and her current rent for the smaller room and public bathroom is $810. The person in the master bedroom is paying $875. I honestly think this isn't fair at all but i can live with it. The only thing that i can't agree on is that the person in the Master bedroom (which has a walk in closet and private bathroom) wants a discount on the rent bc i'm there now. Her offer was $840 for her rent and $855 for our rent. I've gone as far as measuring our the sq ft of each bedroom and divided the % of the total sq ft. I don't want to be fickle about things like that but since she raised the issue and wanted a discount I had to look into it. I came up with some figures and it shocked me when i found out that the master bedroom should cost $973 to be exact and $722 for the small room with public bathroom. I offered to take the master with my GF for $1000( i would even go up to $1050 just to be fair) and $695 for the small room and she doesn't want it. Am i being unfair?

I tiled my kitchen about 7 days ago. Everything looks great, however the grout lines have already become discolored, and I have one oil stain that won't come out. I'm guessing that I didn't do a good enough job sealing. Re-grouting is not an option that I want to undertake. I don't want to use a harsh chemical to clean, because it is a colored grout.

I wonder if anyone has had any experience with those colorant grout sealers aka grout dye. Can I effectively recolor my grout line with a colored sealer, and once that is cured, finish it with a grout sealer finish?

I've' seen sites like "groutarmor.com" and "tilestone.ca"

Is this method of restoring grout lines recommended? Furthermore, has anyone had first hand experience and can recommend a brand or company that I can purchase from and do it myself?

I ruin more shirts with grease (food) stains than I care to admit. Most of my shirts have at least one. What's your family secret? How do you get out Set-in-Stains? I don't want to resort to wearing a bib or eating at the dining room table like a civilized person! I like eating in front of the tv and in the car while I'm on the go.. I have more food stains on my clothes than my 10 month old and that's just sad. I would so appreciate any help! Thanks so much!

I have a somewhat cheaper treadmill that runs manually as opposed to by a motor. I live on the second floor of an apartment building and the treadmill makes noise and vibrations that can be felt/heard from the people living below me. Is there any way I can 100% make the sound/vibrations go away? It needs to be pretty much 100% since the people living below me won't be content with even a little bit of sound/vibration.

What is in Organic Dirt? Have you ever noticed that if you pour water into potted plant that has organic dirt it just sits there for several minutes BUT if you use real dirt it goes right down to the roots immediately. WHY?! And what's in the Organic stuff?

Ive been having a problem with my C/A unit.. Ive changed the filter, cleaned the coils and everything to the point that the only thing that it might be needing is freon to put in... So we called a heating and air speicalists and he said he would charge us no higher then $140.00 to put freon in it, thats labor and all.. He says it depends on how low it is, it could cost us lower then that.. ..he said "freon is $30.00 a pound"..
My qeustion is, is that a good deal? We are new to this and I just want to be careful about who I get to do this....
Also, When the C/A Tech goes to check out everything to make sure that the central air is working correctly.. What all rooms do they check? Do they stay mostly in the basement and around the outside unit? The reason why I'm asking because I have small children and our house is a large 2 story so i dont want the C/A Tech to come into a room and fall over a toy or anything...lol
