I want to clean out my closet and get rid of stuff but I don't know where to start. I know the rule about if you haven't worn it in 6 months, get rid of it. However I've run into a problem with that. I was injured (my back) over a year ago. Since then I've gained over 20 lbs because I can't exercise. Because I've gained weight I can't fit into a lot of my clothes that I absolutely love. In addtion, since I'm not currently working or going anywhere (& gained weight) I basically wear sweats & stuff. So I haven't worn more that 90% of my stuff in the past year. I'm hoping once I get better, I will be able to work out again & fit into my old clothes that I love so much. How do I determine what it is I should get rid of since again, most of my stuff hasn't been worn in over a year, doesn't fit me, or I don't have anywhere to wear it right now(work clothes, dress clothes etc)? I have the same problem with my shoes & purses-since I don't go out anywhere I haven't used them. HELP!!

I've been told than real wood flooring needs a lot of work to keep it up and laminate doesn't - plus laminate is cheaper. What's the REAL deal?

My grandmother has gotten herself into an extreme packrat situation. Her house is falling apart, and is packed to the brim with junk. She is in fear of losing her animals, because she desperately needs repair men to come to the house to fix things here and there, but she is afraid they would report her to the health department. I want to help her clean and organize her house, but I live out of state. I guess my question is, would anyone suggest any relevant services or tips for this crisis! Have any of you had to deal with this?

thank you in advance.

I would like to purchase a larger (maybe 4' tall) water fountain that I can place up against a wall. You know the ones that have water that trickle down like a rock wall with lights. For indoors

We have a mouse in our house. It's hiding in my parents closet. We set up two mouse traps in front of it and my dad went and got a post card with a picture of a cat on it and set it up in front of the closet to scare the mouse into submission, if it does decide to come out. I'm allergic to cats..that's why he decided to set up a post card picture of a cat for the mice to look at. What do you think of this?

Yes everyone that has an A/C unit in their house is loosing some 5 gallons per ton of A/C a day down the drain as condensation to the city who then filters it and sells it back to you. So yes a 5 ton unit will drip off some 25 gallons a day, So if you are going green why not put on your own filter and drop the water in your own pool, garden, or flower beds.

Well I live in a flat and the kitchen is down right ugly. The problem with it is the counter tops/cabinets. They are the cheap things that you see in low income apartments built in the 70s. It has the white gold speckled plastic counter tops, with real ugly dull poop brown cabinets. The cabinets are in good shape but my landlord has told me that I cannot paint them :(. My appliances are new, but they are white and kind of dull cheap looking ones as well. The flooring is completely bad, its real cheap plastic flooring that I think was meant to look like rock flooring, but it went way wrong. What the hell can I do to make my kitchen appear to be more..modern? Attractive? Anything? I can paint the walls if that helps. I am willing to do almost anything I have spent 4 months with this kitchen and I just cant take another day of it!

I have a Eureka Whirlwind (canister vacuum cleaner). I have probably had it for 4 years or so. Sometimes it "spits" out garbage from the canister. Should a vacuum cleaner last only 4 years? Or maybe the belt needs to be changed? Any ideas?
