recently looks as if new circuit breaker panel was installed, i can see both hot wires , ground and neutral all hooked to panel but no ground wire to outlets so i am assuming the conduit acts as a ground instead, the problem is i cant see where ground wire is going to in wall to see where it ends up and the wire on water meter also, is there a way to check to see if my ground is good comming into panel or any ideas how i go about getting a proper ground, this house was built in 1960 and has 3 prong outlets already.

I scaped some off and after a while they began to move. They've killed two of my plants and they are starting to spread to the other kinds. Ways to get rid of them and some red ants would really help.

I know about the South American "3 sisters" arrangement. I'm wondering if there are any other tried and true groupings like this.

Here is the question. During the winter my electric bill jumps from 150 to 400 dollars. My electric central heater is very old, made in like the 1970's and my thermostat doesn't even come close to working correctly. If I could get new ones I would, but I rent so I can't change them. Because it is so hard to keep the heat at a constant temp and the high cost of heating, I was thinking of getting like two portable heaters. One for the living room and one for the bedroom. Would that use less electricity than the old half broke central heat?

I would like to grow a type of plant that "lives above the water" but its roots hang in the water and a fish (betta perhaps?) could live with it. I'd like to use this idea for my wedding centrepieces...with a mirror underneath and candles all around. a little gravel and shells in the bottom too for decoration

Is it a fire risk/hazard, if we do not connect electric bulbs to all bulb holders, say above wash basin, but use some bulbs and rest of the bulb holders are empty and use as is.

Has anyone heard of using vinegar and water in the solution tank instead of using the liquid shampoo for carpets?

I was told that my carpets have soap build up.
I tried going over it several times with just water.
I had a proffessional come in to clean the rugs and this is what they told me. Soap build up.

Any suggestions how to remove it?

My girlfriend and I just moved into an apartment with a fireplace. The guy renting it to us said the previous renters just recently had it cleaned. How much does it usually cost to get it cleaned? How often does it need to be cleaned - is there a way I can tell if its too dirty to use? How do I use it? Thanks so much for your help!

How often should you wash your pillowcase, and how often should you wash your pillow? I assume nasty germs can build up in the pillow from drool and whatnot that gets in there.
