henckles and whustof are not made in Germany?

am I correct, if not where are they manafactured now, I know the companies are in germany, but they are not manufactured there

also they use german stainless steel, is that truly bteer then high carbon stain resistant steel

As a former chef of almost 25 years, I can say without a doubt that Wusthof is the best knife maker in the world. The quality is far more superior than any other knife I have ever used. I am still using the same set I bought 19 years ago. Henkels and Forshner/Victronix are also good but don't last as long as Wusthof. Something in their steel keeps the blades from holding their edge.

Actually both are German companies.

Henkels is now an international company. It was founded in Germany.

Henkels could be manufactured anywhere in the world where they have theit manufacturer plants.

Please note: manufacturer of Henckel knives is a company called Zwilling (not the above mentioned Henkel). It is indeed a German company - their headquarters are based in Solingen. Here is a link to their website:

Most of their products are produced in Germany. In China - where Zwilling also has a huge market - they have a production site as well - manufacturing in China for China and other Asian countries.
