My kitchen sink drain is blocked - I could use some Mr Muscle type drain unblocker, but does anyone know of a chemical free method?

I have a huge backyard with a lot of woods. There are bare spaces. It does not get a lot of sunlite. I would like to grow something there I could eat. Chives? Garlic? Mushrooms? Whatever does not require a lot of sun. Any suggestions?

I was wondering, if you were to employ a live in maid, how much would you pay her? I mean, if your house was big enough to afford her her very own "suite" (consisting of a decent sized bedroom, full bathroom, and kitchen, which when added together is about the size of your standard single bedroom apartment, all fully furnished) and her own parking spot in the garage.
I'm not stuck up or rich, or even anywhere near owning these things yet, but I was just wondering, if she had above and beyond your standard living space and the elimination of a commute to work, how much would a typical paycheck run?

I have a collection of old coins from the 1800-1900 pennies, shillings, florins, etc. I was just wondering what we should clean them with if they should be cleaned.

I really like peonies and would like to use them as part of my floral wedding arrangements. However I know that off season, flowers are pricier and I'm trying to estimate my budget.

I've recently been on holiday and left my Bonsia tree with my boyfriends dad so he could water it for me.
I've got back and it looks like he's knocked it over or something because the tree was wobbly in the pot and the leaves were starting to die. I took it out, re-potted it securely and watered and fed it but it still looks VERY ill.

Is there anything I can do or is my baby going to die? :o(

Heya. My room is currently 103 degrees (Fahrenheit) even though it’s around midnight, and I'm pretty much dying. The rest of my house is around 75 degrees, but even with my bedroom door open (and hearing my idiot father's TV, while he snores) and the window open, it doesn't cool down.

I have one of those Evaporative Coolers, but somehow it actually makes my room feel hotter. I guessed that was because it increased the humidity (Since it uses water to cool the room) and bought a dehumidifier to try to counter-act the humidity while still getting the cooling. This didn't work either.

My room is a 9' x 6' heat box during the day and at night. I have expensive gas insulated windows, with blinds and curtains to keep the heat out. I also have a ceiling fan, two mini desk fans, and a medium table fan. Plus the aforementioned Cooler and Dehumidifier.

Please help me cool my room off, I think I’m starting to boil!

Thank you

I rent a room in a ladies home because that's all I can afford and she keeps it really unclean. In her kitchen there are literally about 50 gnats coming out of the garbage disposal. When she's gone I tried putting bleach, and all sorts of chemicals and nothing has worked. They just won't stop coming back. I don't know what to use to get them to completely go away.

Any advice on what to do? It'd be very appreciated!

I am having a house built by a general contractor, and he seems to think that 24" on center is the better way to go because he says "they can pack the wall with more insulation". I have been doing some research and it seem the more structurally sound thing to do would be to have 16" on center studs. What are the benefits of having 24" center studs?

I asked my roofer to provide proof of insurance. He says he can get it to me by monday but most likely the job will be done by then because he wants to start early on saturday morning (today). I'm concerned he won't have the permit either and want to protect myself what should I do?? I have serious time constraints for getting the job done.

I don't wanna use it as an office or a guest room, I want something cool and different. It can't be used for a gameroom because our living room is so big that we have our ping pong table in it.

the product I have in mind came from Bovelle homes in Australia which was used in an application in New Zealand on premium knotty western red cedar weatherboards. This product was amazing! It even held cut boards together without breakage after being cut from the wall to install an electrical meter box. This product is U.V stable, dries in 30 mins, can be applied wet on wet,and has a dried film thickness of about 1-2 mils per coating. It came in 20 litre pails (5 Gals). Anyone know of anything similar here in the U.S?

Woody shrub growing in central Iowa.
Opposite, pinnately compound leaves.
Leaflets have serrated margin.
Not Acer (Box Elder), Fraxinus (Ash), or Sambucus (Elderberry).

Any ideas would be great.

I've hired a company to paint my home. They said they will apply one coat of paint. I've noticed that there are many spots of the old color still visible through the new color. You can see the paintbrush strokes as if it was just applied more thinly in the spot. The house was light grey and is being painted a dark grey.
Does that really count as one true coat? Should they go back and re-do the parts where the old color is still visible (up close) thru the old color or is this being too perfectionistic?
