I would prefer colour, fragrance and big and bushy.
Not fussy I know.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated

What you want is what I'm looking at and smelling through my open study window as I type, I of course refer to the climbing rose Zephrine Drouhin, a Bourbon rose (French).
The colour is a medium pink, fully double, and are said to have the sweetest fragrance of all roses. I certainly can substantiate that. It is the first to bloom in late spring and can flower till Xmas. They are available at almost all garden centres. If I could have only one climber in my garden, the Drouhin would win in hands down

I really like *Rosa rugosa* as a climber. It is much healtier than the usual Hybrid Tea roses. Many different varieties available. The leaves seem to be more textured than regular roses, and they require much less care. They don't need to be babied.

If you live in an area with snow, freezing, and frost I would forget the roses. (I'm a Missouri resident.)
However the flower below is just downright hard to kill.
Mine is in golden color but it is also in yellow and red/orange (hummingbird vine)
The hummingbirds love all of the colors.

If you don't keep it cut back it will look like below photo
