There membership fee here is, and don't faint, $4,500.
Our local newspaper says they don't give you your moneys worth unless you would pay full retail for everything you buy, no sales, no percent off etc. And obviously you better buy a lot of stuff to make up that much money.
Maybe if you bought a shell house and needed literally everything, but you could still do better shopping sales.

We went there last year after buying a house we wanted to totally remodel & furnish, thinking it would be a great deal for use. The membership fee is way too high (see above comments) and you have to decide RIGHT THEN if you want to join. You can't even leave to discuss it and come back later. I think we've saved more just shopping sales and knowing where to get things.

Directbuy is basically an expensive "middleman". Fees run from around $3500 and up for membership. You also pay for shipping on anything you buy. You can read stories from members by typing Ripoffs/Directbuy in your searchbar.
