I have used liquid fertilizer about once a week, and they get semi-shade. Maybe they are growing stronger roots since I cut them back. They seem a little bushier, but there are no buds yet and it's been a month!

Pansies bloom best in spring and early fall when the weather is cooler. Mine looked baked right now too. There are a few flowers but overall they look tired. Keep taking care of them and give them a little trim. In a little more than a month they should start to perk up. :)

Are they getting any sun at all. Even though they tolerate the shade, pansies do like the sun and they need at least 4 hours of sun per day. That would explain the straggly look. However, If they are getting enough sun then maybe you need to fertilize them and miracle-gro would do just fine since they are annuals. It could be that it is just too hot right now for them to grow. As soon as the temps begin to drop you will probably see a growth spurt.
Good luck

Are you remembering to fertilize? You need to use fertilizer about every 10 days. They are pretty hardy and should come back . You have to keep picking off the dead flowers to keep them blooming. Good luck and don't despair, they should be ok.

You need to cut them right back to about 1/4 of their height. it does take a little time for them to grow back, especially if you are having warm weather, as they are a cool climate plant.
Don't give up, it is well worth the wait.!

don't worry, pansies and petunias thrive on pruning, they will come back better than ever because you have stated that they are bushier than ever
