After I use the shower there is always a puddle of water left near the drain and it caused a dark ring to form. I tried a lot of products and the only one that worked was Zep Calcium Lime And Rust Stain Remover. Home Depot sells it:

Hope this is helpful.

Vicki,

Bathtubs can be made out of many different types of materials and not all cleaners can be used on them. What material is yours made out of? It is hard to answer or suggest something without knowing. I personally, like Comet which has a bit of bleach on it. I wet the stain in my tub a little and pour some of the powder on it, creating a paste. I then allow it to sit for anywhere from 5-20 minutes, depending on the severity of the stain. I then scrub gently and rinse. I also use Soft Scrub as mentioned by another woman; however, my experience has been that Soft Scrub doesn't remove stains that well, but it does clean nicely. I also really like the OxiClean product. Admittedly, I have never tried for bathtubs; however, I have never seen a stain that OxiClean cannot remove. I bought a box last year at Home Depot. It ran me less than $10. I have used it on clothing, linoleum, garbage cans, lawnchairs, just about everything and it works beautifully. I would try that as well if you are hesitant to use bleach. Good luck!

I am only 13, but I am always the one who has to clean my mother's bathtub. It is NASTY. It's dirt brown colored. Get the cleaner called The Works and also get Brillo Pads. They are made out of steel wool and work marvelously. Spray The Works and let it sit for about five minutes. Then, wet a Brillo Pad to get the soap activated, but not to wet or else you will rinse the soap right off. Scrub the tub, concentrating on a specific area. When the soap is gone, or that area is white, use a wet washcloth and wipe away excess soap. It will take a bit to clean and you will use a lot of Brillo Pads, but your tub will look like new!

You really only need one thing, no cleaners or anything. Just buy about 2 to 4 Mr. Clean Magic Erasers. They work the best in my opinion.

Go to your local $ store and get "The Works". My mother in law owns a duplex and when one of her tenants moved out it looked like he hadn't cleaned the shower in the 5 years he lived there and The Works made it look like brand new.

I found this one out on accident......A bottle of shampoo had tipped over and ran down the side and my tub has that little tiny rough surface that dirt loves to stick in and you can't get it out. However, the shampoo made it look brand spankin new! Also, found that bar soap does the same. Anyways, I just scrub it with shampoo

when we remodeled it was to expensive to replace the tub and shower so we bought this stuff from Lowe's that puts a new coat on the tub and shower, it looks brand new and it only cost something like 40 bucks.
