the scent started coming out 10 minutes ago....it smells like a burned stuff or a dead rat...or something like that....the smell was just in ONE SPOT!!!...it was kinda wierd....so whats causing the bad scent?

Maybe both . Check walls or ceiling for a rodent-chewed wire . Could be a bad flourescent light ballast. My circuit breaker box doesn't have a door. Took the cover off, that surrounds the breakers,(don't remember why ) & there where two, dead, dehydrated mice, between the the two rows of breakers. Assume they got electrocuted.

I had pretty much the same thing a few years ago. Turned out a mouse had eaten the wiring on my clothes dryer (see also Fridge, Freezer, Television etc). It took me a month to wake up to it because it was the wiring inside the back of the thing where it had been building a nest! Burnt hair was the predominant smell!
Has anything in the house stopped working? Is your circuit breaker tripping out all the time? They're some tell tale signs.

Could be any one of the above answers, or it might be something else. Do you have gas in your home? if so, you might have a pilot out or a gas leak. gas odor is sometimes mistaken for a dead animal smell. if it just started, and is confined to one area, check to see what is in that area. if there is a gas appliance near there, you might want to get it checked, or call the gas utility company. and if it is a dead animal, the smell will go away in a couple of weeks, if you dont find the body!
