There are so many! I have tried so many but, in my point of view, I think that the name brands have better performances. They may be outregeously expensive, but they work really well on my clothes! Other people might think differently. I think that the off brands have way better scents! My clothes so much better with the off brands but personaly, I think that the name brands perform a lot better. But I don't know what kind of "name brand" to get.

I use All and it works great and is not very expensive! It also smells good! Or you can use free and clear all and pick a fabric softener you like the scent of and your clothes will smell great!

Just my personal experience with Tide. A lot of people are sensitive to it. I don't know if it's what's in it or what, but I know a lot of people who can't use it or they will break out. Spending more does not necessarily mean a better product!

I have tried almost every brand and I love Purex. I read in a book from the queen of clean that it was her preferred choice and so i tried it and I have been hooked ever since. It's much cheaper than some of the other big names, but it's alos a trusted namebrand and has been around a long time. they recently added one that has some fabric softener in with the soap and It's just great! It's worth a try..... but as others said price does not always dictate quality..keep that in mind and don't be afraid to try other brands.

I stick to name brands. Here is a little tip: Powdered detergent works better on dirty/heavy soiled clothes. Liquids are gentler. So, for the work clothes and such, I use powder. For my gentle and hand wash items, I have a hand wash cycle on my washer, I use a name brand liquid, not Woolite. Hope this is helpful!

I swear by ERA detergent. I find it on sale very often and buy several bottles when it's on sale. It's a liquid and highly concentrated, so I only use 1/2 cup for each load. It gets stains,
dirt and odors out, and does a great job. Smells great too.
I've been using it for many years. Love it.

Well for the money sunnlight is a good buy. Tide, Cheers, and most of the names are similar. Hey try them all is the only way to deside for yourself. Your not out the money anyways as you can use the whole box then try anouther....

I personally like Gain. Joyful Expressions smells great, but regular Gain works and smells just good and you receive more washes. It leaves a wonderfully fresh smell that lasts and it isn't all that expensive. Go to Sam's or Walmart.

I've seen people in here ask how to get smells out of clothes after they've washed them or how to get stains out of clothes... i use tide w/ bleach alternative, it gets the grease (nasty machine grease from work) and stains and smells out of my clothes.... I'll never switch... but it does make blacks and other dark colors fade a bit.... that's when i use cheer and cold water for my delicates

I've used All liquid for years, it works great on removing even the toughest stains, it's not that expensive and my clothes smell great afterwards.

I'm a nanny and the last two families I worked for used Tide and my husband used it before we got married, so I started using it and love it.
