Almost everyone who's handy has those one or two tools that do the job of five others or just the one job but five times better than the standard one. (You know, the one you like to show off, or the one people always want to take a look at anyway.) For example, mine are a handle that acctpts screwdriver bits but also takes sawzall blades, eliminating the need to keep a hacksaw, combination saw,or punch saw (I just keep a few of each type of blade and thats all I need). Its made by "General" and can usually be found in Home Depot. My other is a ratcheting screwdriver that flips back and forth from straight to T for ease turning/carrying. Its made by a company called sabertooth and I got it off their website (www.sabertoothtools.com). Now, please, tell me some of yours, how they work, what they do, and where you got them so I can find one too if I like the idea. Thanks all.

Go to Home Depot and look at the tool crib and the line of DeWalt cordless tools.
I also have a wood working shop in my basement and have everything from a wood lathe and band saw to drill presses and grinders, sanders and some special tools I made my self like a router table and sanding table from an old sump pump motor.
I also have a full line of cordless tools from DeWalt to make any job I do easier.

It took years to get some of these tools together and years again, to know what tools work well with what jobs.

All of the above! But I would like to add that when you buy tools, always buy the standard stuff like ordinary screw drivers and deep sockets. The stuff you see on TV is just stuff that will serve a purpose, but usually end up at the bottom of your tool box. I have the screw driver that turns the same way if you hold the middle collar. I just as soon use a standard. The new socket set that lets work go all the way through is good on certain application, but deep sockets will let you get in tight places from above like working on your car.

Diagonal cutters with 8" handles. You can hack through almost anything, and they fit right in your tool box.

Hand held sledge hammer. It's fun to use.

Sure, nothing special there, but they work pretty good for a lot more than I ever expect.

I always found that multiuse tools never did any job as good as one fit for purpose.
