My 10 year plus washing machine suddenly cut off mid-cycle today, and wouldn't turn back on. I flipped the breaker, tried different cycles and nothing happened. So a few hours went by and I started to scoop out the water. I literally had just told my husband "I'm glad that I was doing a small load because I have been scooping for 15 minutes," when it cut back on and water poured back into the basin.
Could this be a faulty timer or motor? Would it even be worth the repair?

I was an idiot... I tore out a tag with washing instructions and now have messed up a pair of very expensive pants (I believe they needed to be washed inside out). They are carpenter style heavy cotton, lined with fleece. Like a jeans material on the outside and fleece on the inside. They were a dark brown, and now have white lines all over them. I am guessing the cause of this is laundry detergent. It is all I can think of. Any ideas of how to get these white lines out?

I have a UK hammer drill (220-240v, 550W) and need a voltage converter to use it in the US. I've heard I should get a converter with a higher wattage than stated (750 or 1000?). Do I need to worry about the cycles difference (50 to 60)?

When we turn on the hot water taps in our house the water is coming out very brown and dirty but the cold water is fine. Does this mean we need a new hot water system or are there filters or something in them that might need changing.

We live on top of our own water source, so I need something that won't leach into the water table and poison us, or if it does, it will be harmless.
I remember one with vinegar, but can't remember the other ingredients or the ratios.
Help?

Thanks!!

If yes, how do you keep them, before wearing them again? Do you hang it? Where? How to keep the stack look neat? I can't put them back in the wardrobe, right, because they have been worn? I always end up with a pile in my bedroom. Should there be a limit on number of pieces? Thank's...

I have really, really ugly 70's tile (think brown, rust and harvest gold) in my entry way (very small...only about 2ft by 3ft. I dont know what kind of tile it is for sure, but I think it is ceramic.

Can I lay vinyl tile directly over the other tile? I am looking for a quick improvement, but I dont want it to cost a ton.

Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!
