I'm looking for something to put in the cupboards, besides live traps (I have those), and besides keeping the food cleaned (done that, still have problem). I don't need cleaning tips, I need something that will keep them OUT, not catch them.... my house is 100 years old. We are finding mouse feces in the drawers with the utencils... Need something to keep them out... has to be an old timer's trick or remedy that is safe.
Steel wool didn't work... it disappeared.
I do appreciate the response's though, thanks.

The previous home owners had all the celing fans installed with remote controls. The fans do not work manually, only with the remotes. One of the remotes stopped working a couple of days ago. The battery is new but there is no signal to the fan.

My question is...
Is there any way to override the remote to use the pull cords manually? If not, is there any way to reset the remote? If you have had this problem, what was the solution? Thanks

I need to replace skirting due to hurricane damage. I would like to use wood, maybe a picket fence look. Any ideas for this do-it-yourself project?
PS...I am not concerned with termites, I hate the aluminum shirting, or I should say, what's left of it.....strong wind sends it flying). Also selling it in one year...not living in it for life!!!

My ex used to use olive oil for a bath-oil and now I have several towels that smell like stale oil. Is there any way to remove this odor? I've tried washing the towels in dish detergent and it didn't work.
Anyone know any way to salvage my lovely, but smelly, towels?
