get as much off "dry", without solvents, by chipping scrapping or other means.
solvents are going to drive residue deeper into the concrete.
you might search the forum at www.johnbridge.com for some methods and advise on removal. it is a ceramic tile site but they like to help.

Some old glue contains asbestos so you don't want to grind it. You can rent a powered floor scraper. Get the majority off them goto the hardware store and buy a gallon of adhesive remover. Pour it on and cover it with plastic and let it set for an hour and then scrape the rest off with a putty knife.

What I did is get a good dust mask and googles and use a grinder. One that takes a 7 inch flexable disc, like an auto body grinder. This will take some time but will do the trick.

what kind of glue? use a heavy duty long-handled scraper, (saves your back and knees), belt sander, shot blaster, (expensive), or floor sander, but avoid using solvents. if you ventilate and keep an extinguisher handy, you might try a torch then an acid bath (muriatic in water) good luck
