The system has 2 zone valves. One zone feeds approx. 110 ft of element pretty much level with the boiler it is ok. The other zone feeds approx. 80 ft of element, here is the problem. When the hot water leaves the boiler it splits on this zone after the zone valve. One leg goes to the elements closest to the boiler pretty much level with the boiler these rooms are ok. The other leg runs vertical approx .8 ft travels through the ceiling then down to 2 elements then back up then down to 3 elements then back up and returns to the boiler I am getting no heat at these elements. I am thinking that the pump is worn and not able to overcome the head pressure. Please help!

I have about 350-400 books of various types and sizes. Currently they are stored in boxes in my closet. This is not really conducive to finding anything or to their life span. What would be the least expensive way to store them? I have considered buying shelves but I can't afford to purchase them right now. I'm very open to economical ways to build a sturdy stable shelving unit or to put up wall shelves- so long as they're adjustable and reasonably removable. (I rent)

I did have bookshelves but they were taken in a foreclosure.

I have tulip bulbs in a glass container inside my house. They just finished blooming and were beautiful. I was under the impression that I could cut them down to make them grow back up again ... but since they aren't planted in dirt, I'm unsure about how to proceed. Will the bulbs resprout and bloom again?

I just replaced the heating element in my dryer today. The dryer had previously been turning but not heating. I tested the resistance on the element and it gave a reading of infinite resistance.

I put the new element in connecting the wires as they were originally. I turned the dryer on and it heated up - but when I opened the dryer drawer I noticed that the element was glowing RED. I'm sure that's probably not normal, so I'm curious as to what else may be wrong with this dryer or if it's normal and I just never noticed it before.

The dryer is a base model kenmore, I cannot find any kind of model number on it but it's one of the older ones with a 'wood grain' top, black instrument panel and an off-white case.

Any help would be appreciated :)

I am curious what happens to the elderly or disabled people that are trapped in their homes and can't shovel snow. Who does it, and does anyone check on them? Also, how does one get a paycheck if they can't go to work for 4-5 days because of the snow?

My queen size mattress has a large dent along my fiancee's side and he has been having a lot of trouble sleeping lately because it is so uncomfortable. my side is slanted towards the crevace, which is also uncomfortable sometimes but not as bad as his side. What should we do? the house is a furnished rental and we can't buy a new mattress. but we also can't continue to sleep (or at least try to sleep) like this. is there something we can put under our mattress pad to fill out the dent? or other ideas?
