My heat pump outside stopped working during the ice storm. Im guessing it turned itself off. How do I get it to turn back on? Anyone else experience this problem?

It may be off because it is too cold out. If cold enough or humid enough, it is not efficient to run heatpump. If it still isn't working after it warms up outside, there is a disconnect on side of house that might have fuses, and it will have a circuit breaker also. If it was constant reversing to try to defrost during the storm, there is some chance that the reversing valve is bad now.

I'd wait for it to warm up well above freezing before I decided it is "turned off".

Well, we have a five ton heat pump, but have never had the problem, but then again we are in Florida.

GOOD LUCK.
