What's the best way to clean hardwood floors? We are going to varnish them but don't want to sand them. What are your cleaner recommendations?

Thanks in advance!!

The very best thing for any wood floor is to always vacuum and dust mop it regularly. This will prevent dirt from building up and scratching or damaging the floor.

As for cleaning "hands-and-knees" method: 1 cup white vinegar to 1 gallon warm water. Wring out water from cotton cloth, and wipe floor a little at a time. Do not get soaking wet. Follow up area with dry cloth to get good buff & shine.

Cleaning hardwood floors requires a damp mop and some warm water. Using harsh cleaning solution will ruin the finish.
