My queen size mattress has a large dent along my fiancee's side and he has been having a lot of trouble sleeping lately because it is so uncomfortable. my side is slanted towards the crevace, which is also uncomfortable sometimes but not as bad as his side. What should we do? the house is a furnished rental and we can't buy a new mattress. but we also can't continue to sleep (or at least try to sleep) like this. is there something we can put under our mattress pad to fill out the dent? or other ideas?

I really can't (no money or space to keep it after this year) buy a new mattress. please if that's all you're going to tell me don't bother. I don't neccessarily want to "fix" it, just something that will make it a bit more comfortable to sleep on.

you should get a new matress or get some space age foam stuff and use it as padding where you need it.

Since it is a furnished rental I would suggest talking to the owner. They may be willing to purchase a new one. Some times they will let you and then deduct it from the rent. Make sure you have it in writing first.
I don't think there really is a way to make it more comfortable. But you could try a feather mattress. But that is going to cost you $$$ unless you can find one on sale. I put one on our guest bed. Our old mattress and i love sleeping in there.

If it is not a pillowtop, flip the mattress. You should flip a mattress once a month anyway. If it is a pillowtop, rotate it 180 degrees. Then as others have said, buy a mattress topper. I got one made of memory foam and with a padded top for about $100 for my queen size at Costco.

First I would try to flip the mattress over. If that doesn't work, try buying a mattress pad. If that doesn't work you can purchase a piece of foam to put on your existing mattress.

Put a piece of plywood the length of the mattress under it.Then get some egg crate foam for the top of the mattress then put your covers and etc.on.
Or just put alot of blankets on top of the bed.:)

"mushy" is such somebody difficulty that that's perplexing for one individual to foretell what yet another individual will locate to be so. one difficulty would be to purchase one among those foam mattress toppers that are generally cheapo and too soft. which could provide you a happy medium on your too-perplexing mattress. i found your subject to be the full opposite of my journey, nonetheless. we've 2 "usual tempurpedic" mattresses in our homestead, and mutually as the two began out business enterprise, they have, after quite a few months of use, wound up way too soft! Is your mattress sitting on a field spring or is it on a flat, perplexing floor. If it has long gone too soft on a perplexing floor, it would then sense too perplexing provided that what you sense is the floor below. perchance it must be on a softer floor?
