We have removed some tile and there is quite a bit of mortar or thinset underneath...approx 1/8 to 1/4 inch in some places. We can chip it away with a chizzle but that takes alot of time. We can grind it away with a grinder but that is messy.

I have a cactus (in house). The other day I looked and there was a white fuzzy substance on it. Looked like mold or fungus of some kind. I need to get rid of it before it smothers the cactus. I barley ever water it, I know it's not humidity causeing this. I'm not a green thumb so I'd like some advice on what I should do for it. The cactus is six years old so I sure would like to save his life.

I have a newborn, who doesn't appreciate my energy misering habits! We need to either heat up our bedroom our the whole house. Our house is 1500 sq ft and it's gas central heat.
The room is about 300 sq ft and we have a little eletric heater. I've heard horror stories about cermaic heaters causing eletric bills to sky rocket!

Any suggestions? Any body "been there, done that?"

How hard is it to please a mother in law? She is filipina and very picky about cleaning...?? My apt. is pretty clean but i'm a busy girl and its not perfect. I am trying to get it as spotless as I can before she sees it but dont know if I can possibly please her or not?? What do mother in laws look for in their daughter in law's house? I dont have bugs or anything but I sometimes let the dishes get stacked up and dirty clothes in the bathroom.

Since I couldn't find the case for a CD of mine, I set it face down (shiny side up) on my dresser. Well, I put perfume on while it was there. Now, I have little dots on it. I tried water, soap, rubbing achohal, and hydrogen peroxide (sorry for spelling errors), and none of them were successful. What are some others ways to remove these marks?

They are recessed lights and take regular lightbulbs. One switch controls five lights. The other switch controls six and is a dimmer. We replaced them with bulbs like the ones that were originally in them: 60 watt bulbs. We don't leave these lights on a lot but the bulbs only last 2-3 months each -- and they are a pain in a neck to change. What could be wrong? Thanks.

We live in a mobile home (trailer house) that was built in 1968. The dimentions are 12X60 with two doors on one side. It already has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. Is it possible to add on a room to what is now the back door and since it is indeed a mobile home in a mobile home park(on a rented lot) it cannot be permanent. Is there any way to make it removable if needed, but still viable as a bedroom. How would you go about doing this if it is possible at all? Can you kind of make a lean to maybe? Does anyone have any advice? Thanks a lot.
