Yes, you can find it cheaper. Call around to the suppliers in your area and work out a deal. Get green wood even and let it season so its ready when you need it.
I use to call the town yard where I live because they would take and dump all the trees and big limbs that they would cut down during the year. They would cut the trees into 2' pieces and on certain days the town residents could go in the yard and take as much wood as they wanted for FREE and a lot of people always showed up for this.

camper sure. smart people that use the wood to heat the home do . they then stack green wood outside and let it dry in there yard for the next winter or better yet the one after that.
i lived in a place where lots even maybe most heat with wood and most have a couple of bush cords come each spring so yes

only those that burn it...yes but usually when they can get the best deal . here in no. pa. you can figure on 10 face cords or so if wood is your primary heat source...we live in the allegheny national forest so we can find it for as little as 35-45 dollars a cord...
