for the kitchen. we are redoing the kitchen. I have put in a black granite counter-top, and there is a hardwood floor of a medium brown color---everything else can be changed. She wants to do the walls in a dark terracotta red, and the cabinets in chocolate brown. we have a built-in eating nook and she wants to upholster the benches in a black and olive-green striped material.A lot of our artwork has this same shade of green in it. I want to paint the walls a tan color and also paint the cabinets chocolate brown. i would like to upholster the benches in a solid green (a little lighter than olive). she also wants to get a lot of small appliances that are red (blender, coffee machine, toaster, etc) , while i want to go with all chrome and black for the small appliances. for the major appliances, I want black and stainless, and she wants all black.
I think we will soon grow tired of the red because its too trendy and loud. She thinks my style is too subdued and boring. Advice?

If I was to dig a hole about 6ft deep and about 2/3feet in diameter, filled it about 18 inch with gravel and lime and then dropped the poo into it, and put a safety cover on, would the lime destroy the poo. ?? or is there something else I could use to destroy it.

Hi,
I'm sixteen and have fairly limitted closet space, my room is often messy aswell. I find that most of my mess is clothes on the flaw, because it often takes a while to fold clothes properly.
I read somewhere that when you travel its good to roll your clothes up. I have just T-shirts, the normal kind, would it be easier to roll them instead?
Does anyone know if it makes it more crinkled or anything, or damages it? Because to me it seems it would be alot neater.
Thanks
Bria

I posted a question the other day about achieving a perfect design without bleedthrough. I noted that I had outlined my design with masking tape, however, the paint kept bleeding through leaving my lines lacey and frayed rather than straight and pristine. The suggestions I recieved were helpful, although, now I'm faced with another quandary. I've already painted another surface using, this time, thinner coats of thickened paint to resist recurring bleeding. Again, however, upon pulling away the tape, I've found that my lines still aren't pristine. I'm thinking, perhaps the paint isn't bleeding but rather the dried paint overlapping the tape is fraying over the covered area as the tape is being removed. In which case, how can I adhere the dried paint to it's tape outline so that all of the excess is removed with the tape. My boyfriend suggested spray-on polyurethane. Any suggestions?

I've painted a 'feature wall' in my bedroom (the one behind the bed) a gorgeous dark aubergine colour, and it's worked really well. Now I want to do the same in my sitting room, which is currently magnolia. However, I'd love to do 2 opposite walls this time. Should I do the 2 long walls or the 2 short walls (I don't want to make the room look closed in).

What prompts the question is that ...

I had to go to the laundromat to wash our comforters and noticed how much detergent some other people were using in their loads. One family used a whole cup of Tide detergent for one load of laundry and 1/2 cup of bleach for the load. It smelled so bad.

The recommended amount is way less than a whole measuring cup of detergent. I haven't used regular formula detergent in 5 years so I am unfamiliar how much is appropriate saying that I am sure that 1 cup of detergent is too much.
