It depends on each State. Mostly 18
but in Illinois you must be 21 in order to sign a apartment lease.
Also, If you want to buy a car, you need to be 21 also. (You can own car at 18 but cannot do a transaction until 21).

To rent an apt you mean? In most states you cant legally sign any kind of contract until your 18 and most landlords want leases to insure themselves.

i dont know if theres an actual age limit but i would assume most landlords would want you to be at least 18
