I am remodeling and am trying to decide between birch cabinets or dark wood cabinets. A lot of people have cherry right now--is it going out of style? I live in San Diego --in your opinion should I go with a lighter cabinet? My appliances are stainless steel and will stay. The countertops are white ceramic tile and also have to stay. Also am between a porcelain tile floor or an engineered wood floor. If I use the wood, should it match the cabinets? I am afraid a dark wood floor will show all my dog hair, and make the kitchen look small. What would you do?

Seriously, it is out of control. We live in a very windy area, and we are constantly getting shocked - every time we touch something. Could it have something to do with the large power lines nearby?

I have a 10 year old daughter, and i would like to redecorate her room. It is a double bedroom, and i have no idea what colours to use on the walls???
her drawers are beech effect, so anything that will look good with those would help.!
( i really like the idea of: 2 walls one colour, and the other 2 another)
I don't want the colours too girly or adult, but would like it to last a number of years, after this is done!! please give me some ideas

I do not need any help with organization when it comes to taking my classes and doing well in them.

However, I have a habbit of saving old papers/ worksheets/ tests. For some reason, I always have the though in my head "Well what if some day I need to go back to this stuff?" .....

I'm cleaning out my bedroom. I am 19 years old and I am still finding math notebooks from when I was in 7th grade. Most of the clutter in my room is from folders of papers from my last year and a half in college.

Has anybody ever had to go back to their old stuff? or was it safe to get rid of it? ---- I will be keeping most of my books (I'm going for elementary ed..so i will keep my psychology/child psychology..and early childhood books....math/history books or books that dont have much to do with my career choice i will be getting rid of.)

Any suggestions? My room really is not dirty, but i have too much stuff! and 80+% of the stuff is from previous years in school. Help??

I have a yard full of Black Locust trees that I would like to get rid of. They are hard to cut down and even when you do, the stumps are very difficult to pull or eliminate.

Door's about 100 years old, varnished wood (maybe fir) with some unsightly scratches (maybe 1/16th to 1/8th inces deep).. In getting rid of them or at least reducing their appearance:

- my wife thinks we should fill (although no idea with what)

- I think should try to sand down and feather out

suggestions?

Whilst colouring my hair last night (a semi-permanent red colour), I accidentally got some of the colour on my bathroom door, which is wooden, but painted with gloss paint.

I tried to get it off with water, soap, and then bleach, but it hasn't shifted. Is this permanent damage which I would have to paint over, or is there something I can use to get rid of the marks?

Thanks!

We are buying a house built in 1966 with aluminum wiring. I am looking for an avg cost to install COALR receptacles to the outlets and/or install COPALUM crimp devices. The house is 1920 sq feet w/ four bedrooms. We got one price quote for $1700 to $4000 and I wanted to know if this is about average or if it can be done for cheaper. Thank you!

Most of the slow cookers have two parts the main bit and the ceramic pot and you add water in the middle, however, i've heard they are not that good. I know someone who has one where you dont add water just your ingredients - its made by tower and of course they no longer make them. I hope i've made myself clear any question let me know. Many thanks

I'm looking for the type of interior door where the top portion can open separately from the bottom.

Please don't answer unless you have a link to a DOOR, not just suggestions of where to look. Thanks!

One year our area had problems with heat loss from roofs after a large snowstorm. People were having to rake off their roofs as the gutters would fill with ice and then ice would force it's way under the flashing and then melt and leak into their house. Would I be asking for trouble by putting a fireplace vent pipe withing 12 inches of an overhang with a gutter?
