I would try a different kind of knob. I have used Schlage for as long as i have been in the buisness. Far superior and easier to use and install than kiwkset or any other cheap piece of crap. remember you get what you pay for.

If you have replaced the lock and it failed again, than it is probabaly that the holes drilled in your door for the lock set are not true. If the holes were not drilled exactlly perpendiular to the door the lock set is put under undue stress. Was this a pre-drilled door? If so the door should be replaced, because it is defective. If you drilled the holes you may be able to have a locksmith fix it for you.

Oil is not a good idea in sticky locks as it attracts and holds dirt making matters worse. If anything use dry gaphite.

Sounds like a defective lockset. I would deal with HomeDepot on it, if they will eve talk to you about it. Depends on how long you have had it.

If they won't, check with the lock manufacturer. It has been my experience that dealing with these people won't get you a replacement very quickly and that it is easier and less frustrating to just buy a new one and put it in.

well the answer would be in the installation, if you have gone thru three of them in three months, either the door or the lock set. does the lock strike bind when you lock it in the door frame? if it doesn't slide easily into the center of the latch hole, you could be breaking or bending the guts of the lock. or else it's just a really cheap home depot lock set. good luck, you may have to reinstall the door to fix it or redo the strike plate location.

try spraying wd-10 or wd-30
in the locks
if that doesn't work
maybe ask the home depot people
