I do not need any help with organization when it comes to taking my classes and doing well in them.

However, I have a habbit of saving old papers/ worksheets/ tests. For some reason, I always have the though in my head "Well what if some day I need to go back to this stuff?" .....

I'm cleaning out my bedroom. I am 19 years old and I am still finding math notebooks from when I was in 7th grade. Most of the clutter in my room is from folders of papers from my last year and a half in college.

Has anybody ever had to go back to their old stuff? or was it safe to get rid of it? ---- I will be keeping most of my books (I'm going for elementary ed..so i will keep my psychology/child psychology..and early childhood books....math/history books or books that dont have much to do with my career choice i will be getting rid of.)

Any suggestions? My room really is not dirty, but i have too much stuff! and 80+% of the stuff is from previous years in school. Help??

The only thing that I have needed was my old spanish stuff. My brother took spanish and I needed to help him.

Since you are going into elementary ed. it would be a good idea to keep some of your books, but are you planning for more younger grades or older? Your older graded stuff will not be as helpful if you get Kindergarten!

I still have all of my old stuff...I just bought a huge rubbermaid tote and put it in there, that way maybe when my daughter brings something home from school I can get mine out and remember just how I did somethings. You can organize it by grade and stand them up so you can see the bound side with the titles. If I every have to use it...I will know right where it is...the biggest tote in the back on the bottom : )

When I moved out of my parents house my husband had to help me pack and he just put anything paper in garbage bags, and we had a bon fire, I don't know what went in there but I haven't missed it yet! You could also just recycle it and save a few trees!

Good Luck sorting

i was the sameway, what i did was,i started wiyh 1st grade and picked out,the best paper or work i did in each subject.i did this thru all the other grades.put each grade in a file folder, mark the file 1-12 n college..get ur self a file box and storte ur files in them..all the files fit in one box...discard all the other papers u dont need them, believe me..im so happy i did this to mine..plus its nice to have them,THE BEST PAPERS,to show ur kids or have good memmories...BUT ONLY SAVE THE GOOD OR BEST GRADE ONES A=+..1 box is better than 100s of papers around ur room...gl

if you don't use it for last 2 years, mean probably you don't need it, if you are really worried, scan it and burn the scaned docuement to DVD, and thus you have only 1 dvd , but you throw away 5 big note books or big binders.
