gen.contractor not licensed to do plumbing electrical or Mechcanical had res.inspected twp. forwarded to state now he is in hot water not willing to refund money did a shoddy JOB NOT UP TO CODES. he has several (9) violations aganist him. not licensed no permits. what is he looking at as in fines and laywer fees.Ineed $$$ to redo bathroom he has lein on home to

Too bad, as you know, you also had the responsibility to check the contractors background with the state prior to hiring him.

You should have checked him out before hiring him. You may not be able to recover any money unless you can prove misrepresentation by the GC.
You may also be liable to bring things to code as far as your township is concerned.
