I have been in the Mosquito abatement business for many years and, I have never heard of any "repellent" as you call it that is worth looking into. There are many products on the market that claim to "repell" but, actually laboratory tests as per "Clark Mosquito" of Chicago Ill. "most products only repel a small percentage" of these pesky insects. The best of course is "DEET" and products with this in it. So, Save your money or make candles for ornamental purposes.

citronella candles is the only thing that work on mosquitoes. Unless you use a product from off.

You need to buy citronella candles. Big home improvement stores may have them now in winter. Usually they are a summer item.
