The power is out for the washer. The door is stuck, but I don't know why. I just need to open it now, but I don't know how.

Edit: When I meant that the power was out, I meant that the washer lost electricity and won't be turning on (probably forever). It's auto lock is still on and I don't know how to get it to unlock manually. I use a GE washer.

you can reach panel where motor is at..
turn shaft for timer.. to release..

There are so many different types of washers that it's difficult to give any general advice on this. But my guess is that if the power is out, you may need to wait for it to come back on, as the washer may have some type of automatic lock.

Get a butter knife and try to pry it open or kick it.
