Go to your local Town Planning Office, in your Civic Centre or Town Hall. They hold copies of all buildings in your area and
should be able to show you which fence is yours. Alternative
get your solicitor to do it for you but he may charge.

Have your property resurveyed according to your city property parcel records. If the fence is inside the property line, it's yours. If it's right on the property line you own 50% and your neighbor the other 50%. Also check with your city building code dept. and ask if there were any permits granted for the fence. Which ever property owner that got the permit owns the fence.

Normally the one with the fence rails on your side are yours... but most likely find permits in the public record for the fencing.

If the nails are facing you, it is yours. The reasoning is that in order to put the fence up, you would have to hammer the nails into the panels to fix them to the fence posts. Therefore, if you can see the nails, the fence is yours.
