I hope to build a new house on the side of my end terrace. I dont like radiators so wondered if underfloor heating was as good as or better than normal radiators. I will not have blown air heating.

I have 3 Aloe Vera plants with droopy outer spikes, I know they need to be removed to give the healthy spikes a chance, but I don't want to just throw them on the compost. How do I preserve the juicy bit to store for future use? I have tried refrigerating the spikes but they just turn black and yukky.
Does anyone have any tips or recipes for remedies etc?

The cabinets are in the kitchen & bathroom. They are a light, honey-colored oak & are dry & cheap-looking with some superficial nicks & scratches. I want them to be restored & have a luster but not be too shiny. I would like for the honey color to be a little richer in tone & the yellow parts of the wood to be darker. Sanding, staining, glazing, painting?? I really don't know what to do or how to do it, but I need to do it on my own in order to save money. I would appreciate all responses - Thanks!

Hi,

My washer dryer has broken and we have been quoted repair costs of £170 - £230. As it is 4 years old this is not cost effective.

We are going to buy a new one and wanted some opinions of good makes and models and what to avoid in your experience.

We do not have the space to have a seperate washer and dryer.

We have a budget of up to £370. We are a family of four and I run a wash everyday sometimes 2 or 3 times a day. Drying is less frequent as I like to dry outside whenever possible.

Energy efficiency and water consumption are important and I would also like wool wash, hand wash and quick wash features.

What would you recommend and why.

Thank you in advance for your answers.

We have a two-story townhouse, and while the heat works fine for the first floor and parts of the second floor, the master bedroom on the second floor is absolutely frigid. We called in a tech from the gas company for a diagnosis, and he informed us that we had to bleed air from the pipes of the gas hot water heater -- easily DIY (if we know what we're doing), or about a $200 job if we call in a professional. How do we go about doing this ourselves? Thanks!

I did something dumb yesterday. I took my houseplants outside to water them, and left them outside for an hour (I got distracted and forgot them actually) anyway now most of the leaves look like they froze and are totally droopy should I cut back the damage all the way down to the soil and hope they will grow back or did I kill them? They look dead? Its a shame if I killed them cause they were many years old.
