I hope to build a new house on the side of my end terrace. I dont like radiators so wondered if underfloor heating was as good as or better than normal radiators. I will not have blown air heating.

YES 'Wet' underfloor heating is the very best system, especially if it's installed properly and with the correct controls. You will be warm everywhere and anywhere with no draughts or cold spots. Don't put fitted carpets over it though, use timber or marble tiles!

Depends what type of underfloor heating. Electric is VERY expensive to run and the new plastic water pipe stuff is quite expensive to install. Normal water (not electric storage) radiators is probably the way to go. You don't have to fret about floor coverings then either.

Have you never seen Grand Design? Everyone who builds these big houses do the underfloor stuff, some even send a pipe deep down into the ground to part heat the water, to save even more money.

As heat rises starting as low as possible is Ideal, but with underfloor heating it has to be a low background heat as it takes a while to heat up.

Have you considered other options such as thermaskirt, i've fitted this system twice now and had very happy customers and as one of the others say lifting a floor after you've has expensive flooring fitted isn't fun

The only problem with underfloor heating is if it were to break you have to lift the whole of the floor up.Abit of a pain if you have tiles down

It's better because heat rises and it's nice to have warm floors - we have underfloor heating and I love it!@~

under floor heating is a waste. It only heats the floor so your feet are warm. You could not generate enough heat under the floor to heat the air in the enclosed space.

Definitely under floor heating. No messy radiators on walls, so you can use every wall space.
