I recently bought a half duplex 6 months ago and my next door neighbore is a smoker. I only smell the smoke in my bedroom which is connected to hers too. The weird thing is that the cigarette smell is coming through my return vent in my bedroom. When I bought the house I replaced the old carpet, painted the walls, and replaced the heating system. I need some suggestions because I'm tired of waking up and going to bed with the smell of cigarette smoke. Again, I can only smell the smoke from my bedroom and nowhere else in the house. Please help!!!!

We purchased a six seater wooden table from Ethan Allen. It is made of farmer pine. I am not sure of the original finish, whether it is varnish or eurethane. Last year i had cleaned it with murphys oil soap--BIG mistake. Now the table is gummy and when i run my finger nail over the top of it i can scrape off whatever it is making the table gummy. Should refinish it by sanding the whole table down and putting a poly eurethane on it or should i strip it with the proper chemical and then putting the eurethane on??? also what is the best product to use??? Thanks for your help. Ohh yea i got a bid for someone else to do it for round 400$ Is THIS the better option?? Thanks again!!

I live in Phoenix, Arizona. I do not see any cracks in any of the walls. The creaking sounds are coming from the roof and will travel across the room. The sounds seem louder, and occur more often day and night

I know that the best time to water is in the evening or early morning so that it will not dry too quickly. In my case, I live in an extremely dry and hot area. We are in a new subdivision where most trees were cleared and there is little shade. After several months of fertilizing and watering, our grass is starting to come in better and it looks greener. I water the whole garden well every night but by 10 AM the next morning, it is dry as a bone. Is is ok to give it some sprinkling in the afternoon or will it burn it?

We are buying an older house. Some of the siding is gone. I would like to replace it with similar siding. I am afraid it is too old of siding to find a replacement for the missing or worn out siding. How do I know?

I went to put the clothes in the dryer, and I found that there was still about 6 inches of water in the bottom of my washing machine. I have tried to make it drain, and go through the spin cycle. All it does is spin the water around. Any ideas on what may be wrong, and how to fix it?
