you used bleach an hot water (right), when using bleach use cold water. Cotton isn't really white white, when cotton is spun of the ball in the factorys it's a yellowish color an then they dye the fabric to the color they want. and you purchase that white shirt an we bleach an all bleach does is remove the color back to its orginal color YELLOWISH

there is a product called tint-ex that may be found in a department store (if there is such a thing anymore).
it's similar to dye only it also comes in white. sorry i just forget who puts it out. long time since i've used this info.
