LOL. Um...Ya know I never really thought about it until I read your question. No, I think it's just right, so I wouldn't buy one that's "higher off the floor." I guess if you are really tall and have long legs, there would be a market for them----like for professional basketball players.

I hate higher toilets! I read an article years ago by a doctor who said toilets then were too high! Seems the human body excretes solids more efficiently from a squat position, not a sitting position. This guy advocates foot rests on the side of the toilet to raise the feet and knees to mimic a squat. Yeah right.
So these new higher toilets could make elimination more difficult. On the other hand, orthopedic doctors with so many hip replacment patients urge them to get higher toilets to reduce the angle of the hip and femur.
So as we get old we'll be more constipated but your hips will feel better. I can't wait.

I built a raised platform (8") in a bathroom for a disabled man. He had trouble getting up from a seated position due to a terrible back injury. He hated the way the ADA compliant toilet adapter looked and worked. It wasn't that difficult a project and after the tile was complete the bathroom looks great and he can do his business and not worry about having a hard time getting up.

we bought our house from an elderly couple. The had a higher toilet put in. I like it. It is much easier on the hips and knees and will be great when we need it. The only thing I don't like it the newer toilets are low flush and don't flush as well.

We have both, the hi rise takes a little getting use too. I think the good Lord made us to use the low, low one. I am 80 yrs old and a 150 lb over weight, but I prefer the low one, but I do have grab bars on both sides. With out those I would be almost forced to use the hi rise.

Yes, they are too low, but the do have ones that are higher. I plan to get one when I replace my toilets.
The higher ones are easier to get off of, especially for older people or tall people.

I just had one put in a couple months ago that is higher, and it is much nicer than the low one. We got it at Lowes.
