Food for thought my YC friends. What resources would you have or organize in an event of a home fire? We had one. And not much resources avaiable to us, accept a few dollars in our bank accounts, a check coming in from work, food in the food pantry and a hotel nearby. What a Christmas this has been. What must we do to survive such a senario or any kind of emergency/s? Please get your self ready . A worry friend.

I got a coffeemaker for Christmas and today was my first day using it. Now I'm wondering how often it needs to be cleaned? I've already rinsed out the coffeepot part, but should I put it through the dishwasher too? Does the rest of the machine, like the permanent filter and everything need to be cleaned daily too or just sometimes?

I plan on deglossing first but I've been told to primer first so the joint compound will hold better. I then will apply a texture paint and then paint one more time with the final color. Does it matter if I prime first or fill holes and paneling groves first?

ok, its a double basin sink, with a garbage disposal on one side, usually when i run the disposal, it will pump dirt water back up the other side, BUT TODAY IS DIFFERENT!
i put some coagulated partial dried noodles down the disposal, and and then i filled the sink to soak the nasty pan, and i turned on the disposal, to dispose of the dirty soapy water from the soaking, AND NOW, IT BACKS UP ON THE OTHER SIDE, AND WONT DRAIN, AND FILLS BACK UP ON THE DISPOSAL SIDE, and i run the disposal again, it fills up on the other side, and then slowly backs up on the other side again!!!
MY FRIDGE DIED TODAY TOO, and im spending all my money on a new fridge tomorrow,
HOW DO I UNCLOG IT, im not scarred to open the drains ive got tools PLEASE HELP!

I accidentally left a cup of coffee on my counter when i left for vacation, and when I came back there were fruit flies all over the place. Does anyone know of a good way to get rid of them? I hate the way fly paper looks, so I'd rather not have to put any up.

I am looking to remodel my kitchen. I am stuck here alone in the office for the day (with nothing to do but babysit the telephone) and figured that I would work on my kitchen remodel and toss some visual ideas around.

Is there a good FREE website that I can play around with my ideas and concepts? One with GOOD visuals and easy to use would be best. I tired Home Depot and Lowes, but none of them let me "view" my kitchen ideas.

Anyone have some Websites they can share?

I have a Bungalow style kitchen with white cabinets, butcher block counters, and wood floors. I would like some advice on a good color for the large kitchen that is in keeping with 1920's style but also "appetizing" (e.g. not the dark yellow I have now!)
