I have a hot water tank in my house which is fed by a cold water tank situated in the loft (not mains). I want to convert the loft space into a proper room and therefore want to get rid of the cold water tank. Is there a reason why the cold water tank feeds into the hot water cylinder, and if so what is it? Can I not have hot water cylinder fed by mains water?

How does a tankless water heater work? Can it be used for multiple items at the same time? (ie. laundry, dishwashing, 2 showers). Do you install one unit that heats water to every appliance in the house? How long do they generally last? What should I expect cost-wise?

Hi I would like to know how much wattage is needed to grow an inside garden that is lets say 400 square feet in specific. The garden will have a variety of vegetables and fruits, nothing in particular just a little bit of everything. This is assuming no sunlight, just wattage from light bulbs. How many watts are needed per square foot garden.

Thanks so much for the answer this has been bothering me for the longest time now and i cant find it on the web.

The warning tag attached to the valve seems pretty serious. We have a friend who says he'll replace it, but this seems like something that should be left to a professional according to the tag....How hard is it?

I had a roommate who loved to do house work. When she vacuumed, she'd sprinkle Glade powder on the carpet and it smelled so good. When she moved out, she took her vacuum with her. I bought a new Bissell powerforce vacuum. When I used it for the first time, I couldn't believe all the left over carpet powder it sucked up! I didn't use any carpet powder when I vacuumed. It was all left over powder in the carpet from my roommate. My vacuum is bagless with a dirtcup and filters. Everything was coated with powder. The outside of the vacuum had powder on it, the dirtcup was filled with powder, the filters were coated. I had to clean everything and wipe it all down. I'm worried that all the powder I sucked up is ruining my vacuum. I don't know if any powder got into the motor, but there are vents on the outside and I'm worried that powder got in. What a mess! I'll never use that carpet powder. My trash feels like there's a bag of sand in it from all the powder I emptied out of the dirtcup.

I have a beautiful Peace Lily from my Mothers funeral. I have it in indirect sunlight and water it about once a week to 10 days.

1)What is the best "food" for this plant?

2)Should I repot it so it has room to grow?

3)What would cause individual leaves to die??

4)Should I be "cleaning" the leaves with a misting bottle and soft cloth?

I have never had live plants because unlike my green thumbed Mom who could make anything flurish, plants come to my house to die... lol

Any help would be appreciated as I am desparate to keep this plant alive and well.

Thank you in advance.

The hinge on the door has worked its way loose and the door is hanging off. The holes the hinge screw into on the cupbards side are worn so are too big to screw the hinge back into. I tried filling the holes and then screwed th ehinge back in. This worked well for a few weeks but then came loose again? Is there another way of fixing the door? Are there any hinges I can buy that can be screwed straight onto the door?

I will be installing laminate floor in a L-shaped section of my house. The longest part is 32.3 feet and the widest part is 23.4 feet. Will the normal 1/4" expansion gap all around be enough? I don't want to add an expansion gap in the middle of the floor if I don't have to.
