When I first bought them I figured after a couple of washings they would become more absorbent. They seem to repell water instead of absorbing it.

My walls started out neutral white or whatever is on brand new walls. Then when I was 10 I painted them bright yellow. When I was 18 I painted them bright blue. Now I am ready to tone down and go with something neutral or closer to it! Is there anything I need to do to my walls before repainting them? there are areas where there is excessively heavy paint. Do I need to strip them with some chemical or sand them, etc? Help!

1. The tiles have been on the floor since about 1966.
2. I do not have the money to replace the floor at this time.
3. I will probably put wood floors in the future, so this is a temporary fix so don't tell me crazy glue which may not ever come off.
4. Yes, I was the one who pulled off the tile in the first place.
5. The tiles are 9 inch by 9 inch, and do have slight spaces between them.
6. I do not know if either the glue on the back of the tile or the tile itself contains asbestos, but I am pretty sure that it does not.
7. I really do need your suggestions, this tile is in my way!

Everytime I've gone mattress shopping, why are there no QUALITY and COMFY twin size matresses on the market? What's available all seems like crap. I just bought a new twin set 13 months ago and it's shot already. Seems like the bedding companies only make the quality stuff in full, queen, and king. Don't these idiots know not everyone has space for a full, queen or king size bed? Even the best name brands seem to put out only mediocrity in twin sizes. Is the source of the issue the bedding manufacturers alone, or is it happening on the furniture stores' end?

My contractor says that a cut in the vinyl floor in our bath will not show at all if "done right". Should I just insist on getting a full new sheet of vinyl installed since it is under warranty?
