I am a female, but can lift 50 lbs., 70 a little at a time. Is the toilet bowl heavy?

It isn't heavy, but that's not the difficult part of installing a toilet. The difficult thing is that it's awkward and if you're using a traditional wax ring, you only have one shot to lay it down correctly, or you'll have a leak.

They do make a no-wax ring that is much more forgiving. You'll need to buy it separately, but it gives you a chance to set (and reset) if you need to as much as you like until this is properly seated. Then it's just a matter of tightening the bolts and the tank. Not a big deal.

You may want to go to DIY's website to look at the step-by-step directions:

I recently found this website http://home.howstuffworks.com/how-to-repair-a-toilet6.htm
to be very helpful as it has step by step with pictures. You should get help from another person because when you lift the toilet from the floor you have to try and keep it level. There is always water left in the toilet and for some reason, it is more likely to spill if you don't keep it level. Also, the most important thing is to ensure that when you place the toilet on the new wax seal, you do it once and not move it around after you place it or the seal won't be as effective. Try to get a friend or two to help place it straight and level on the new seal.

Gosh, don't you have any male friends that would help?
Anyway. It isn't too hard. Go to DIYnet.com (I think that's the address) and look up the instructions. The new unit should also have instructions. Every Sat and Sun Mornings on HGTV they have shows that sometimes show the installation process. Not hard. Turn off water to toilet. Take out old one, replace wax ring at bottom, install new unit; install old or put in new water lines. turn water back on. Check for leaks.

As much as I have been known to enjoy a freshly packed bowl I'm going to have to say Superbowl for two reasons: 1.) GO STEELERS!!!!! 2.) Random drug testing at work. I'll stick with the booze.

You should be able to handle it but it would not be a bad idea to have a friend help just because it may be a bit unwieldy.

It is not a difficult task. Anyone in the plumbing department at any big home improvement store should be able to direct you.

Good Luck!
