I have an 8 day cuckoo clock and it has been working fine for quite some time (it was passed down to me, it is know around 40 years old). I have recently noticed that after I wind it and start it again it will stop just a few hours after I wound it. I know it didn't pull the weights too high because there are rings stopping that. Is this anything I can fix myself?

Was just wondering how much a chimney sweep would cost in the south east of england. I've just moved house and we;ve got a lovely (windy) chimney which we'd love to use but have no idea if its safe or if it'd need sweeping or anything lol. Any help would be great, especially to help us avoid cowboy's (fakes)

I need help please! My son has a room in the basement, two of the walls are cement. We let him and his friends all write on the walls with washable markers BUT they also have decided to spray paint on some of it! My landlord is selling the duplex we live in...we will still live her but, he has a realtor coming today and shortly after potential buyers will be coming through. How do I get those walls covered and what do I use??? Any suggestions is GREATLY appreciated!!

I notice at Lowes the staff tend to be of a younger crowd and are far less experienced. They also seem to have a nasty attitude and don't know every much as well. In Home Depot the staff are of an older generation and when they tell you things it comes from their years of exp rather then something that came from a book. Home Depot also hires electricians, plumbers etc.... The staff are much more freindly and don't act cockey and upity.

My mother is 85 years old - she finally had a chance when she retired at 71 to enjoy a little bit of life and came down with cancer at 80. So far she's won the battle , and now things are starting to become too expensive for her. Their increasing her taxex 50%!! I would like to have a shower put in downstairs cause she's not able to climb stairs by herself. I found a place that I can get a grant for her but what they offer will only cover about half of the cost! I take care of all her medical, transportation, laundry, bookkeeping, yard work and small repair jobs- I'm not working - I don't have time keeping up two households. Please someone help me?

I'm taking up the old tiles in a kitchen. Since I need a level strong subfloor for the new tiles what is the best way to do this? I was going to scrape and possibly sand or grind the old mortar down so I would have a new base. My concern about placing hardibacker even 1/4" is that this would now raised the level of the floor higher than the adjacent living space (open flr plan)

I would like a wooden table and chairs (either 4 or 6 chairs), and I don't mind second hand just as long as it looks nice. Any ideas? The cheapest for the best is what I'm trying to accomplish.
