A gift card to a local grocery store. People exhaust their resources buying a new place, that will be one less expense she will have. Filling the fridge for the first time can be expensive!

Something for the kitchen, bathroom, or living room. A gift certificate for Linen and Things or Bed Bath and Beyond is always a safe bet. Pier 1 usually has some nice stuff too.

Any sorta kitchen gift would work great. Hey try getting a Silpat. 20$ at Bed Bath & Beyond. but just dont go with anything that gives off a look, like dont do any dinnerware or flatware. Or how about a clock. Or hit up Target and picture frames. Target, at least in my opinion is goanna be your best bet.

Make her a gift basket. You can put anything you want in it, and it will look like you spent a fortune! Add kitchen towels, a gift card to Target, Bed Bath & Beyond, etc, scented candles, kitchen gadgets, picture frames, stationery, imported chocolates, a good bottle of wine, etc.

Depends on what she already has from her previous rental.
1. A personalized address plate with number of house and name.
2. Photo of you two.. or her . or someone special to her in a decorative frame.
3. Gift certificates... they can buy what they need.
4. Go over to her and visit.. see if she needs... curtians, rugs, someething ornmental for her dining table...

New kitchen knives and a set of flexible cutting boards - a really invaluable gift since most people don't have a nice set of knives and want to use their new kitchen right away.

The Home Owner's Journal: What I did & when I did it by Colleen Jenkins
It's a great record of the important details of everything you do to your home, such as decorating, maintenance & repairs. Invaluable when it comes time to sell.

If she's a really great friend you can offer to pay one of her first utility bills to help her get settled in. She'll really appreciate it and it will be very practical and give her less to worry about in her new home for the first month.
