Bob J is incorrect, in part. The mitigation systems do work. However, many installations are retro fit (old construction). While more expensive to install, it can be done. Be wary when hiring a contractor, as they should be certified in radon mitigation system installation. Contact your local health dept. for more info or go to www.radon.org and look for your state info.

Incidentally, you should have your house tested prior to installing a system (I'm sure you already have). Email me with any other questions you may have.

Yes they do if installed correctly. Only way to install correctly is upon new construction, before foundation is poured.
