My neighbour has mould growing on the inside of his external walls in his bedrooms, the brickwork is 9 inch solid work built in the 1920's, my house which is connected to his has no problem whatsoever, the pointing looks fairly good from outside, he thinks that rendering will solve it , could he be right or is there other causes?

It seems that the inner and outer elements do not heat up equally. Can anyone explain why if we can go to the moon, we can not make toast?

I went through a lot of trouble with this particular apartment I was planning on moving into but I went tthrough it and I moved in on New year's eve. Now, I'm finding out that the shower will only have enough hot water for 5 minutes so after 5 minutes the water gets cool instead of hot. I called the landlord and he said it's because it's tankless so it only last 5 minutes and I have to take a quick shower. I asked him if he can install a water heater and he said no. He's not going to waste $1000 to install just for me. I commented that the other unit has it and he said that the other unit's tankless heater was broken so he had to replace it.

Anyhow, I don’t think I can stand taking 5 minutes hot shower since I live in MA. What are my options? Can I sue him and make him install the heater or can I sue him and get back my first and last month rent, my moving expenses, payment for the hours I spent cleaning, and for moving cost to another location? Or am I out of luck...

There are plenty of answers on how to remove carrot stains from clothes. But does anyone know how to remove them from plastic dishes? I'm not sure if it is safe to use bleach, especially on my kid's plastic plates and spoons.

This actually seems like a really simple question - can I actually put plants in the garden during the winter months? I realise there is the risk of frost, but surely that risk is also there for any plants put in during the warmer months?
I'm just thinking its so mild right now, I can mail order some spring and summer plants online and get the gardening done early, before the spring.
Am I mad for even contemplating doing any gardening in the winter? I got strange looks from people in the garden centre for buying plants in November, and they are all doing well!

Cheers

Richard

We purchased laminate flooring from Sam's wholesale club. We put this flooring in our living room because it is a high traffic area (two small dogs, kids, etc.) I can honestly say I HATE this floor. I clean it at least 3 times a day and it never looks shiny. Within an hour of cleaning it you can look at it in the light and see footprints (dog and human) that just stay on the floor. We dry it completely after cleaning it with a slightly damp cloth of laminate cleaner or a combo of Windex and the cleaner. The floor sits next to a dining room with real wood and there is just no competition between the two. The real wood gleams regardless of the foot traffic but the laminate looks hazy and cheap. Any suggestions? We are ready to tear it out and put carpeting back down at this point.

I have tried a number of products. None seem to get all the mildew/mold from the cocking. It's a stand alone shower, with just cocking around the seams. I can clean the entire shower, but the mold makes it look awful. help

As I said, I would like an evergreen privacy hedge and would like a low maintenance hedge that doesn't spread far. I live in town. Nothing too tall since overhead telephone & power lines are an issue.

Thanks in advance.

I want to attach my new dishwashers waste pipe and i think I should be able to do it by attaching it to the spigot that sticks out the side of the u-bend pipe under my sink. However, this has a huge steel bolt cap 'thing' locked on it and i cant budge it for the life of me. Any ideas of what tools i could use maybe?. Otherwise I guess I will have to cut a new fitting on top of the waste pipe next to the washing machine one that is already there. Any advice/help on best course of action greatly appreciated.

I have a combination AC/furnace system in my home. The same vents that provide my AC in the summer also provide heating in the winter. I have noticed that when my heating is off in the winter, I can feel cold draft air coming from the vents in my home. What is this and how can I stop this from occuring? Why is cold draft air coming out of the vents?
