how do the end become like that. Is that because of the cap on the rebar displaces the space and they break off the pretruding end?

We have a 3000 square foot 4 bedroom home and have no idea what to do with all the space. We have 1 as master, 1 as guest bedroom and the other 2 have nothing in them. I have my pool table downstairs, so a game room is out of the question. They are not that big, so I thought about a computer room but the computer is in the master. They do not have cable or phone hookups so I dont know. Is there any way to get the computer in there and have internet without having the phone company come out and put a new plus for 150 bucks?

Hi,

I am new to electric stove, i just wonder what will be the real temp different between 1-10 of the electric stove. Is it true that the max temp for a electric stove is higher than a gas stove? Obviously i just "frys" my pan by using the max power of elec stove. What is the setting that i should use for normal cooking. thanks.

I'm interested in painting a very small half bath with a 10 foot ceiling, and I have NO idea what color would look good. It is only 3 fet wide, and 8 feet deep and I don't want guests to feel like they are trapped in a very small box! Anyone had any experience with this?

There is extreme wetness near the base of the walls 1 perticurally to the south and west and one to the north and west sides. I have had the attic ventilation balanced and it has gotten a little better. I also forgot that there is tyvek on the exterior and the cedar siding is curving toward the outside. I had the worst of it (siding) replaced this summer. The heat registers have just been replaced because they were rotted. I am replacing a sliding door for the same reason. I am also trying to replace some windows that may be leaking air. Thank you

I want to install a direct to stud tub surround. I'm not removing the drywall from tub to ceiling, only as high as the tile - leaving approx. 2ft of drywall. Once I remove the tile/drywall, can I slide the lip of the surround under the remaining drywall, or do I remove enough drywall so the lip is exposed and then cover the lip with drywall, mud, and tape? I hope that makes sense.

I live in a duplex apartment; the walls are paper thin and my next door neighbor is driving me batty. He talks loudly to himself and screams profanities very early in the morning and wakes me up. I'd like to put some kind of barrier on my side of the common wall, but I'm unsure what will actually buffer the noise. Someone suggested the foam egg stuff that you put on a bed. Whatever I put up as a barrier, I will cover with a nice fabric so the wall won't look so tacky. Thanks for your help!!!

As my Trane XE80 is cycling off and the fan is slowing down, I can hear a fairly loud clanking that sounds like the fan is hitting something metal. It only occurs as the fan is slowing to a stop - lasts about 15 seconds. Do you think it's ok to start removing covers and sticking my fingers in there? Should I call my local Trane dealer who will take lots of my money? Should I just leave it alone and think of it as a clock chime? Anybody ever heard of this? I guess I'm just looking for reassurance that it's not going to explode if I let it go for a couple of weeks until I can get paid and help my local repairman make a payment on his Ferrari.

At first I asked this question as a joke, but on second thought I actually started wondering if it was possible to get rid of sh*tstains in underwear without having to get to a washing machine/dryer - possibly using remedies available at your local .99 cents store.

...Or should you just buy fresh underwear and some baby powder?

We are looking for a leaf rake for our pool which won't tear within the first two months. We've been paying an average of $15 to $25 and getting really tired and replacing them on a regular basis. We're looking for one of the really heavy-duty variety like the one that a professional pool girl/guy would use. Since we need one right away, we would prefer not to order on-line so if there is anyone out there who lives in the San Fernando Valley, California, who can point us in the right direction where we may be able to purchase one tomorrow, you will be the greatest. Otherwise, if we need to go on-line, please supply the website address if they can guarantee a very small delivery timeframe with no shipping charges. Since our pool is not heated, my poor husband may have to go in and scoop out the leaves himself while freezing his butt off. Thanks all.

Finishing a basement with ceramic tile. I'm using 1/8 spacers for my grout line. I was told not to use the sand grout because it will be too hard to press into joints and isn't necesary because joints are so small it doesn't need the extra sand strength. What type should I use? As for color, I don't want to see stripes. I would like the grout to just blend in. My tile is cream/lt. beige w/grey marble like pattern. Do I use a light grey to bring that out or do I try to match the cream color? I came home from an unhelpful tile store confused and discouraged. I tried their plastic grout samples but when I saw the same color of the actual grout on one of the tiled sample it looked nothing like the plastic sample because of the sand speckling. Its taken so long for me to lay to tile and I had no idea how hard this was going to be. 1600sq ft. is a lot to look at if I choose the wrong color or product. I would truly appreciate any help.
