My father spilled a half gallon of milk on the floor of the passenger side of my mothers car this Christmas. Needless to say, I was the one who got the clean up details. I soaked up as much as I could, but warned my mother it was going to stink in a few days, with a vengance. That day has arrived...how does one get that stinky foul smell out of the carpet?

According to a Google search, several knife-care sites say that I should oil my pocket knife blade to keep in from rusting.

What kind of oil should be used?

I have never owned a knife before...any more tips you can share?

It is 4" pipe that is approximately 35 years old. And no, using a chisel and hammer is not an option nor is calling a plumber.

I know they like warm places (like electrical/phone wall plugs. So I've been leaving my microwave unplugged until I need to use it. I thought it was working as I didn't see them dying under the microwave. But this morning as I finished warming my coffee when I opened the door, there were half a dozen babies and I saw a larger one in the door latch!!!
My question (finally) if I leave the micro unplugged, can I use a spray or some kind of insecticide inside the crevaces of the microwave?

I would like to put up lights that come on when someone comes near the house or at least something that warns someone coming into the backyard that they are not welcomed. I have a kid that comes into the yard (I have that as another question on here) but I don't want to wake up everyone with something like a car alarm that could go off at 3am. Any ideas?

Hello all,

I come from an East Indian family that lives abroad. My mother often cooks Indian food which involves cooking of a lot of onions and other spices and herbs initially. As a result, there always is an awful smell that diffuses throughout the whole house. This smell is not just of onions but also of the spices used. In our language, it is called the smell of "tarka" (though, I may have spelled it wrong). Unfortunately, this smell has become a part of our house and can easily be recognized when entering our home. Does anyone know or have any ideas of removing this smell.

Any suggestions would be appreciated

S.M.

I have a hot water radiator system in my house. The boiler fills automatically from the water line so I do not need to manually add water. I was bleeding the radiators last night and the entire first floor, the radiators bled fine. I went upstairs and two of the radiators are partially hot and the top half is cold. When I bled them air came out for a few seconds and then nothing no air or water. The third radiator was completely cold, so I closed the inlet valve and reopened it. It then began to get warm and bled air and then water. However, I tried to bleed the two that did not produce water again and the same thing happened. I heard air for a few seconds and then nothing. Is there something else I need to do? Or should I continue bleeding them for a few days until water comes out?

I have a dark blue paint and a light blue almost white can of paint. He has all primary colors in his bedding.Race cars sheets and such. He has a loft bed. I was thinking of painting the bottom of the room dark blue about 2-3 feet up and then do the light blue, with a wall paper boarder between. Throw a red rug on the hard wood floor. I really want him to like his room so he sleeps in it. He is mentaly slow and chages his mind so often. But cars he always likes. Any creative idea's done on a low budget would be great! It is a small room so I was afraid that the dark paint might make it look smaller. But I want more colors on the wall then light blue and I want to keep it that way for a long time with out repainting in 2-3 years. So trying to keep it nutral in a way. easyer to change wall paper border then repainting. He is 8 yrs old but mentally between 4-8 on different levels..see my problem?
