Plant in a sunny location. If you buy a regular size (not dwarf) be sure to allow growing room around it as it will get larger. If it freezes in the winter where you live you need to know citrus is sensitive to the frost. If you happen to have a location fairly close to your house and perhaps somewhat protected such as a fence nearby, etc., then you should consider that area. If it is way out in the yard far from any buildings it gets colder when there is a frost. I have a dwarf meyer lemon and there are a whole lot of lemons on it right now. It has been very easy to grow, just water and fertilize.

First of all, you have to have the right temps to grow a lemon tree. Where do you live? Do you have frost? etc. Lemon trees (depending on variety) are easily grown. Dig a hole and stick it in cover with dirt, fertilize and water. If you live in a very warm place....water often!! You will not see the fruit tho, depending how mature the tree is for about a year or so.

Check to make sure your in a zone that a lemon can grow. Dig a large hole in the backyard. Use a well draining soil with lot sof perlite. Use bone meal and slow release fertilizer. I would start the lemon in a seperate pot using the same soil mix untill the lemon tree is about a foot in length. Thsi wasy it will be in direct care of you untill it becomes strong enough to be out of your direct care.

Protection from freezing is critical. I've grown lemons in partial shade that survived freezing because they were on the south side of the house.
Just pay a visit to your local nursery (not a box-type home store) and ask them what varieties grow in your area. The extra couple of bucks you pay at the nursery is worth the professional advice.
And, as noted, expect to wait a couple of years for fruit.

You buy it, dig a hole and plant it. Then you water it frequently and then once a week after it is established. Don't buy a Ponderosa Lemon Tree-very large lemons that are all skin and seeds.

Depends on where you are. I've got 2 growing from seeds in pots so they can be moved in when it freezes. Otherwise, plant the seed or tree in the ground and keep watered until well established.

buy a tree, dig a hole were you want the tree to grow , put the roots of the tree in the hole and refill the hole , add water from time to time to keep the ground moist , and wait for it to grow
