I need to purchase a pair of twin beds for my new guest room. How do I choose? Should I try them out and pick what I prefer? Go with firmer in case of older guests? Or have one bed softer than the other? Can someone help??

I move into a 1-bedroom apt. shaped like an H. The two sides are the bedroom and living room, and the "-" is the galley-style kitchen connecting the two. Both sides have separate outside entrance. The problem is that closet and bathroom can only be accessed on one side. Should I make the living room with entertainment center/couch the side with the bathroom in case friend's sleep over and need bathroom access, or put the closet and bathroom in my bedroom. Hang-out room where guests sleep would have no bathroom and they walk-through my bedroom or find a tree outside. But then I have closet access.

We're having ant trouble. The man we're renting from built this house himself. Right now we're having a huge ant problem and money is tight. I was wondering if the landlord is responsible for having our house fumigated since any other problem we've had so far he's dealt with personally.

I have a piece of land and have seen homes build out of nothing but cinder/concrete blocks. It looks like they use wood and tin for the roofs. Does anyone know where there are some basic plans or can offer some advice before I put a concrete slab for the fountation and start stacking?

I bought these cute on the wall vases for my apartment that allow a single stem to be placed in each, and currently I have Gerber Daisies. I doubt they will last long...does anyone know the answer to this? I hate carnations...and will only resort to fake flowers when i am going out of town.

if I listen to their sales demo. I checked the BBB and they have a satisfactory rating, but I find it hard to believe about the shopping spree (it's some kind of catalog). Anyone with any knowledge or experience with this company?

I am not interested in granite and am mainly considering laminate (formica) or corian because I don't really need anything too upscale. I would consider quartz but my impression is it's outrageously expensive. But it would be so easy to have a reference source saying laminate costs x, corian is x+2, etc. I have had bad experiences at Home Depot and am trying to avoid them if possible.

I am finishing my basement and am wondering what would be the most cost efficient, yet practical way to cover the floor? We have considered a wood/laminate, carpet, a combination of wood and carpet, or paint? Any ideas?

I love tropical plants and trees, most importantly, i would love to have some japanese maples around the house, would they survive the outdoor heat? The temperature can reach 120f out here.

well, it's "Skil" brand and basically I plan to use it to first make a place to hold cards in the bottom of a cribbage board, and then maybe to do decorations on other wood projects. I know I at least need a straight bit.

Normal size, 3 pillow couch, 8 foot long.
I'd want a minimum 2 layers of tape.

Are extra wide rolls of duct tape available?

What's a ballpark total cost?

Any ideas how I can increase the water level down my toilet pan? Obviously if I pour water down the loo, the water level sorts itself out round the u-bend and stays the same. It just seems to look a little low. Any ideas? Can I top up the water level in the cistern thing?

Any plumbers out there got any ideas?

I'm not exactly sure what category this would go in, but...
For four straight nights, kids have been taking my neighbors lawn furniture and dumping them on top of my vehicles. Am I allowed to fire my BB gun at people who trespass onto my property? It wouldn't hurt them too bad. I've set up a videocamera in my garage because I'm sure they'll be back tonight. I know this question is kind of weird....
