You have removed the season from the wok.
What you will need to do is clean the rust from the wok and right after doing this fully coat the inside of the wok with a cooking oil ( vegetable or its like ) Place the wok into a preheated 350 degree oven and bake it for an hour or so until the oil coating has blackened on the metal.
After you have re-seasoned the wok never scrub it with a scratcher or any thing that will destroy the season if you do you will have to re-season.

I assume you mean surface rust only. There is a product called "Wink" that dissolves rust. It is expensive, but it works.

Personally, I use professional grade products designed for auto body work. Be careful with them, they can eat skin and other things.

I also use auto body sandpaper. Perhaps 320 wet or dry paper used with water. Wrap the paper around something rather than using your bare hand. That keeps you from cutting grooves.

Ultra fine steel wool might also help. Buy it at the lumberyard in the paint section. It is commonly used in furniture refinishing.

Season it per the instruction book. That usually means heating with vegitable oil in it and spreading the oil.

Mine says that if this happens to scrub it good with like a brillo pad and wash thoroughly then coat with vegetable oil to re-season it.
